Intraop Medical Corporation develops, manufactures, markets, distributes and services Mobetron, a mobile electron-beam cancer treatment system designed for use in intraoperative electron-beam radiation therapy (IOERT). The IOERT procedure involves the direct application of radiation to a tumor and/or tumor bed, while a patient is undergoing surgery for cancer. The Mobetron was designed to be used without additional shielding in the operating room. Mobetron can be moved from operating room to operating room. In addition to IOERT, the Mobetron also can be used as a conventional radiotherapy electron-beam accelerator.
