(Bloomberg) — The top U.S. road-safety regulator is gathering information about a Tesla Inc. feature that allows customers to remotely call for their car to pick them up.The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is aware of reports related to Summon, a feature the electric-car maker made available last week, and is in ongoing contact with the company, according to an emailed statement. Apple CEO Cook opposes Trump, backs “dreamer” immigrants in Supreme Court

Apple Inc CEO Tim Cook on Wednesday filed a brief at the U.S. Supreme Court opposing President Donald Trump’s effort to end a program that protects from deportation hundreds of thousands of immigrants who were brought into the United States illegally as children. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration said on Wednesday that aircraft operators must inspect 165 Boeing 737 NG airplanes for structural cracks within seven days after the issue was found on a small number of planes. Boeing Co notified the FAA of the issue after it discovered structural cracks on an aircraft undergoing modifications in China. Florida joins Justice Department settlement with Sprint, T-Mobile

Florida has signed on to a consent agreement that the Justice Department reached with Sprint Corp and T-Mobile US Inc to allow the companies to merge, according to a court filing on Wednesday. While Florida’s decision to join the government is a morale boost for the companies, it may have little practical effect since the two sides already settled. The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Wednesday it is gathering information about reports of minor crashes involving Tesla Inc’s Smart Summon feature that allows people to retrieve a parked vehicle remotely by using an app. Several users have posted videos on social media of Tesla vehicles that appear to have been in near accidents, while one posted a video of a Tesla striking a garage wall and another of a Tesla being struck by a vehicle backing up.
