Wall Street’s main indexes hit record highs on Wednesday ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, as fresh data pointed to a resilient domestic economy, while investors remained optimistic about a resolution to U.S.-China trade tensions.
U.S. economic growth picked up slightly in the third quarter, rather than slowing as initially reported, and there are signs the downturn in business investment may be drawing to a close.
Spain’s Telefonica said it would separate parts of its Latin America business and regroup cybersecurity and cloud computing activities under a plan aimed at generating more than 2 billion euros ($2.20 billion) a year in extra revenues by 2022. Anheuser-Busch InBev , the world’s largest brewer, is exploring options for its packaging activities as it streamlines its portfolio and focuses on its core beverage business, sources close to the matter said.
The global liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector is poised for major growth over the next several decades.
The U.S. alone is expected to add almost 7.06 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) to global production by 2025.
Not surprisingly, the bulk of it will come from existing shale plays. U.S. producers will turn nearly half of U.S. domestic production (37.1 Tcf) into LNG for export.
Additionally, half of all new global gas growth will come from American shale wells.
Production growth from shale wells increases by nearly 4% annually. That’s four times faster than conventional gas wells.

U.S. private equity firm Silver Lake has bought a 10% stake in Manchester City’s Abu Dhabi-controlled owner, adding to its $43 billion worth of investments which include the world’s best-known sports venues and teams as well as technology companies.
The Abu Dhabi-controlled soccer group that owns Manchester City has agreed to sell a $500 million stake to U.S. private equity firm Silver Lake, making it the world’s most valuable soccer group with a $4.8 billion price tag.
A federal judge said up to 29 million Facebook Inc users whose personal information was stolen in a September 2018 data breach cannot sue as a group for damages, but can seek better security at the social media company after a series of privacy lapses.
