The executive director of Human Rights Watch was denied entry to Hong Kong at the city’s airport on January 12, 2020. Kenneth Roth had been scheduled to hold a press conference in the city on January 15 to release the New York-based organisation’s “World Report 2020”. Human Rights Watch says this year’s annual report will focus on the Chinese government’s “assault” on the international human rights system.
