AstraZeneca Just Sneezed. Will Other Vaccine Makers Catch Cold?

Just eight days after AstraZeneca (AZN) announced the expansion of clinical trials of its AZD1222 vaccine against coronavirus into randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase 3 in the U.S., disaster struck. Medical journal Stat reported (and this report was later confirmed by AstraZeneca itself) “a suspected serious adverse reaction in a participant in the United Kingdom” Phase III trial conducted by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford.AstraZeneca gave no further details on the adverse reaction in question. Pollution in Oceans Is Leading to Plastic in Your Body

If you think plastic pollution is a problem only on roadsides and beaches, consider the old adage “What goes around, comes around.”
A recent study found that sea salt around the world has been tainted by plastic. These particles have been identified in sea salt in China, France, Spain, the U.K. and the U.S.
Other studies have found high plastic levels in shellfish, beer and water – both bottled and from taps.
That’s a big concern. It means microplastics are now in the human food chain.

Penney Co.’s lenders have agreed to team up with mall landlords Simon Property Group Inc. and Brookfield Property Partners to buy the bankrupt chain of department stores.The tentative rescue deal, which would preserve about 70,000 jobs, includes a $300 million equity investment by the landlords, a lawyer for J.C.
