AMC Entertainment Holdings Eyes More Theater Openings for Labor Day

Shares of AMC Entertainment Holdings (NYSE: AMC) stock were up nearly 9% on Wednesday through late-morning trading. The movie theater chain announced that it plans to have 70% of its U.S.-based theaters open this weekend for the upcoming Labor Day weekend.
COVID-19 has battered the AMC stock, bringing it down over 5% year-to-date, and more than 38% over the past year. But this resilient movie theater chain has been showing signs of life, largely due to the chain beginning to open theaters back up.

$3 Billion Planned for Next-Generation Hydrogen Power Plants

(Bloomberg) — Three power plants planned in New York, Virginia and Ohio will test whether hydrogen can one day replace natural gas in electric generation.Power producers Danskammer Energy LLC, Balico LLC and EmberClear are paying Mitsubishi Power Americas Inc. more than $3 billion for the facilities, which will collectively generate 3,284 megawatts of electricity. While the plants will initially run on natural gas alone, they’ll eventually shift to burning green hydrogen produced and stored on-site. The company said the chips use a new manufacturing technique and other tweaks that will make them more powerful at tasks such as using artificial intelligence to reduce background noise during video calls.
