United Airlines is preparing for the biggest pilot furloughs of its history after announcing on Thursday the need to cut 2,850 pilot jobs this year, or about 21% of the total, without further U.S. government aid. AMC Stock Gets Small Bounce but Will the Movies Come Back?

AMC stock rallied from a low of $5.21 to a close of $5.54, yesterday, which represented a gain of $0.13 or 2.40%. The stock price moved on a reasonably strong first weekend of box offices being back open.
Now, the weekend’s box office total gross was $6.6 million. That represents an increase of 232% over the previous weekend’s gross. This is a positive sign that movie theaters might still be a viable business.
