3M to sell drug delivery business for $650 mln

Industrial conglomerate 3M Co said on Thursday it would sell its drug delivery business to investment firm Altaris Capital Partners LLC for about $650 million as part of its plan to shed non-core assets. A disaster at one of Vale SA ‘s tailings dams earlier this year that killed at least 255 people was partially triggered by “a persistently high water level” that caused the dam to lose its strength, according to a report by a panel of experts appointed by Vale’s legal advisers. Nokia, German carmaker Daimler and several car parts suppliers have agreed to independent mediation to resolve their technology licensing dispute, the Finnish telecoms equipment maker said on Thursday.
