UPDATE 1-Intel says chip supply for personal computers remains tight

Intel Corp said on Wednesday it was increasing its reliance on contract chip manufacturers to ramp up supply of chips used in personal computers as the company struggles with shipment delays amid higher demand. Intel said supply remained “extremely tight” even though it has expanded its manufacturing capacity and increased second-half PC chip supply by double digits compared with the first half. Prime Minister Scott Morrison said on Thursday it was up to the board of Westpac Banking Corp to decide whether Chief Executive Brian Hartzer should resign in the wake of Australia’s biggest money laundering scandal. A Florida-based charity will pay $4 million to resolve claims that it acted as a conduit for companies including Biogen Inc and Novartis AG to pay kickbacks to Medicare patients using their high-priced multiple sclerosis drugs, the U.S. Justice Department said on Wednesday.
