(NYSE: GM) and Segway on Tuesday unveiled a two-seat, electric-powered urban vehicle called the Puma, which they compare to an “iPod on wheels”, complete with Internet connectivity and an on-board brain to drive by itself and find its own parking spot. The Puma is said to reach a top speed of 35 miles per hour, and ride about 35 miles on a single charge. The Puma is ideally suited for shuttling effete community organizer-types between picking up Lattes at Starbucks, and their jobs redistributing the nations wealth. We understand that each PUMA comes with a free ipod pre-loaded with podcasts of the Keith Obermann and Rachel Maddow show, and Barrack Obama’s audiobook. The Chinese and Indians who are upgrading from bicycles, and rickshaws to automobiles, are surely having a good laugh at the new American Dream Mobile. The question is how to play this trend?
