(Bloomberg) — Tentative steps toward progress in the economy and the fight against the coronavirus helped push U.S. stock futures higher.Contracts on the S&P 500 climbed 2.6% as of 6:03 p.m. in New York. Gilead Gains on Report Claiming Coronavirus Drug Effectiveness

(Bloomberg) — Gilead Sciences Inc. shares climbed in late trading Thursday after a report that a group of patients being treated in Chicago were “seeing rapid recoveries in fever and respiratory symptoms.”The report, from the medical news publication Stat, cited a video made by a researcher at the University of Chicago who is helping conduct a trial of Gilead’s drug remdesivir.
